The money that is collected is very important for many organized community events
because most of them don’t pay for themselves, even if an admission fee is charged.
Since Board members and volunteer assistants receive no compensation, all monies
that are collected are used to cover hall rental, food and other organizational expenditures.
Besides, the community publishes a newsletter (ˇynys) and has to pay for upkeep of its
internet website. All of these expenses are met only from community membership dues, so it is
very important that we collect as many dues as possible. All paying members receive the Žynys
newsletter with information on LAC activities, as well as a minimum 15% discount on many
community-organized events, and translation service. Membership dues can always be paid upon
arrival at any event, or by sending a check. If you’re not sure if you’ve paid your dues this
